Gemma and her 2 pasture mates were in dire need. Numerous calls from local residents finally generatd adequate interest from the sherrifs office but only after one of the horses had died due to starvation. Gemma and the surviving pasture mate were relinquished to a veterinarian. That veterinarian contacted Rainbow Meadows for assistance and provided care for the 2 horses until both could be admitted to the rescue. Both horses were severly emaciated. Now at the proper weight, Gemma has blossomed into a friendly mare that loves attention. We were told she was started under saddle. We have done a short evaluation in the saddle and she has proven to be willing and energetic.
