Venus

Venus

Administrative/Health & Wellness Fee: $500.00

Semi-abandoned on pasture in rural Chautauqua County, Kansas, Venus (along with pasture mate, Calypso and her dam, who died from unknown causes while on the pasture) foraged for dormant grasses and available water during the winter. When it was revealed to a concerned friend in Elk County that these mares had been turned out some years before with no one checking on them, they called Rainbow Meadows for help. Once the mares were located, Rainbow Meadows began bringing feed on-site to acclimate the mares and reacquaint them to human interaction while surrender documents were negotiated with the current owner in Colorado. Fortunately, the owner was willing to transfer the horses and they soon came to the rescue. Venus is sweet and cooperative, despite no interaction with humans throughout her life. Venus was started by Rainbow Meadows staff at the age of 4 years. She has proven to be a very easy mare to deal with and ride. She would be best as a partner on the trail where she excels.
