Hello, my name is Angela Miller I am the proud partner of Guapo a lovely pinto gelding I rescued from Mexico who now calls beautiful Rainbow Meadows Equine Rescue home.A little background info, I am a retired combat disabled US ARMY Veteran who currently resides near Manhattan, Kansas and volunteer several times a week at Rainbow Meadows Equine Rescue.I am originally from Bay City, Michigan, however I have traveled extensively since I was 18 years old. I have lived in New Jersey, Europe for over 4 years, Panama and Middle East. I lived for 4 years in Mexico before I moved to Kansas. I was in Desert Shield/Desert Storm until June of 1991. Our Military Police Unit consisted of tents, wood and concertina wire we built in the middle of the desert between Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait. We processed over 35,000 Iraq prisoners in the first American POW Camp since the Civil War.My love for horses began on my first Breyer horse for Christmas at about 9 yrs old. By 11 I was biking to a friend's house working in her barn doing anything to be around horses I did some western barrel racing, western pleasure and halter in shows. Over the years my military deployments kept me from horses until I moved to Mexico in 2017. I lived on a Hacienda that bred Andalusian and Frissian foals and fell in love all over again with horses. Some of the cruelty I observed in care and training of horses got me involved in horse rescue. When I moved to Kansas, I found Rainbow Meadows and realized the true meaning of rescue and making a difference in a horse’s life. I am honored to be involved in this Board and helping preserve Rainbow Meadows mission.
